Friends and Church Family,                                                                                                                                21 November, 2009

I guess my "weekly blog" is turning more into a "monthly blog." We continue to be very busy around here. Three men from our church had the privilege to go to the Soldier's of the Cross Mens Conference in Newport Beach last weekend. We had a great time of fellowship and the preaching was refreshing and challenging. You can view a few pictures on the photo gallery page.

Please continue to pray for the building situation. I am suppose to meet with the CHRPD director on December 2 to discuss a lease agreement. The prospect of having our own building is exciting, and I am looking forward to seeing how God uses this situation to His glory.

Have great week, and a Happy Thanksgiving! I'm looking forward to seeing each of you this Sunday.

Greetings,                                                                                                                                                                    24 October, 2009

Busy, busy, busy. It's been several weeks since my last blog, and I apologize. Our big prayer request right now is the building situation. The Seniors will be moving from the Senior Citizen building as of November 1st. Our church has been given the go ahead to continue renting the building through the month of November, and then prayerfully, we will be able to rent the building on a lease and have all access. This will be a wonderful opportunity for our church (to have our own building). Please continue to pray.

In the meantime, we made the purchase of 32 new chairs for our auditorium. A love offering for these chairs will continue through the first week of November. If you have not had the opportunity to give, and wish to, please mark your envelope under "love offering" with the title "chairs." We were able to purchase each chair for the very cheap price of $10/each. This is a great deal, however, we still need people to give.

With the purchase of new chairs, we have also fully restored our pulpit. I am very excited to unveil its new look tomorrow morning in the services. Pictures will be posted online very soon.

Have a wonderful week, and I look forward to seeing each of you this week in services. God bless!

Greetings,                                                                                                                                                                    18 September 2009

What an exciting week I've had! Last Sunday our church celebrated our third anniversary. It was wonderful to see many of you there. The men's quartet from West Coast Baptist College began services with some great Christ honoring music, preparing each of our hearts for the preaching of the Word of God. Then we were privileged to have Pastor Robert Benefield speak in each of our services. Pastor Benefield challenged our people to continue in the work of the Lord. To each of you that were there, thank you for making the day so special.

We also had the privilege of going to the National Pastors and Workers Conference in Santa Clara this week. As always, the preaching, fellowship, and singing were just what the Great Physician ordered. The preaching of men like Bro. Bobby Roberson (my personal favorite preacher), Dr. Jack Trieber, Pastor Tim Ruehl, Pastor Mike Ray, and others was used to stir my heart in a great way. In addition, North Valley Baptist Church is known as the "Singing Church," and each time I get the privilege of being there, they live up to that name. What a wonderful time we had. For those of you who've not been able to go with us to this conference, let me encourage you to do everything you can to attend with us next year.

I am looking forward to this Sunday with each of you. My heart is over flowing and I'm praying that it will just pour out this Lord's Day. See you then.

Members and Friends,                                                                                                                                            31 August 2009

We are thrilled about our new website, and the ability to share a weekly address with calendar updates, prayer request, and Biblical lessons. You can access each of these pages by simply clicking on the links highlighted.

In less than two weeks, Pleasant Valley Baptist will be celebrating our Third Anniversary. Preparations are being made and I am truly excited about our BIGGEST day of the year being just around the corner. This years guest speaker will be Pastor Robert Benefield from Sequoia Baptist Church in Visalia, CA. Pastor Benefield was my pastor for the first year I was stationed (in the Navy) in Lemore California. He is also a dear friend to my wifes father, and has known her all of her life.  Bro. Benefield has been pastoring in Visalia for over thirty years and is sure to be a great blessing to our church during our Anniversary services.

In addition, we will be priviledged to have a tour group from West Coast Baptist College in Lancaster, CA. They will be performing all the special music during our morning and afternoon services.

Lastly, our church family will be preparing a full (free) Turkey dinner for lunch. Service times will begin with Sunday School at 10:00am, Morning Services at 11:00am, followed by lunch, and then our special evening services will be at 2:00pm in the afternoon. Mark your calendars now and plan to come celebrate with us! I am looking forward to seeing each of you there.
